Alright I see what you're saying, instead of resetting the count I will just increase the threshold for the alert when we change tanks. Thanks for the help!

EKM Push is connected to the company LAN via Ethernet. I do not have EKM's USB to RS-485 converter, but I have an off the shelf USB to RS-232 converter that I can try, thanks for the advice!
