Thanks for just now sending the screenshot of the "Location" I stand corrected you are on COM1!

Let me know if step 1. above made any difference and if the Omnimeter is powered up.

Also I cant tell from your screenshots, because the Meter Read Rate on your USB meter is covered over by a window. But it looks like from other screenshots, that you have your meter set to read every 15 minutes. I would set it to 5 seconds for this troubleshooting. Your USB converter should blink once every 5 seconds.

I reset the wiring on the USB and sent to you an email with the screenshot of the "location". It shows Port_#0001 Hub_#0007. The only Serial Port options I have on the pull down menu are Com1 and Com3 ; I have tried both with no difference in results.

Also, the Omnimeter was powered up . Small numbers on the left side continue to increase by 1.

I reset it to 5 seconds, but after the initial flash when plugged in, the USB converter does not flash at all.

Will you go back to the "location" window and click Properties? Then click Driver (send this screenshot) and Events (send this screenshot too)

At this point I am not seeing why your USB Converter is not blinking once every 5 seconds. Is your Dash attempting to read once every 5 seconds?

Thanks for your help.

Ok sending you the pix. Yes the meter increments by one every 5 seconds, and still shows all zero's. Once in awhile it shows L1 L2 L3 A2 A3...

As if this has not been difficult enough, I noticed that I apparently plugged into the other port (2). I changed it back to Port 1.

Thanks for the additional screenshots of your FTDI driver settings. Everything looks to be in order from everything I can see. You have the exact same FTDI drivers as we have on our Windows 10 machine (same vintage). All messages look like it is installed, running, looking good, good to go, etc.

Before I had meant to ask, does it look like your EKM Dash Activity column looks the same? Is the Dash just not connecting to the USB Port? Very mysterious.

Next step is restart your computer, next step after that is we send you a new USB Converter. Dont know what else to think at this point.

You wouldn't happen to have a different computer around there would you?

I have restarted and still problem. The Dash Activity Column looks okay dor the Omnimeter 300000828, but for the one that we are having a problem with, ti says" Check RS485 Connection". Yes please send me a new RS485 converter and I will try it. Willing to buy an extra one if needed.
Thanks

Thanks Garry,

Alright, try this: delete your meter from the EKM Dash, and then add it back in as a USB meter. It could have vestiges of the EKM Push meter causing you trouble.

One more question, do you have the latest version of the EKM Dash? Download it here: http://www.ekmmetering.com/meter-software

After the above, sending you a new USB converter seems like the next logical step, I am out of ideas. Strange that switching your operating system would have caused an issue with the USB Converter, cant think what else it could be.

We will ship you a new USB converter today.

Thanks for your help.

I received the new USB Converter and have installed. Unfortunately, the identical things happen as with the original one, so that rules out the USB converter. Is there a time when we can talk by phone?

Sure we can talk by phone. Send us an email and I will send you my ph #.

Im thinking you need to re-install the driver. I dont think this should be too difficult (though I am not PC or Windows 10 savvy)

In the Windows 10 Port section that I took you to before there is a section that has to do with "Updating the Driver"

I did this with my USB Converter connected to my windows 10 machine: Click on Properties > Change Settings > Driver > Uninstall. After this I no longer had a driver on my Windows 10 computer. I then un-plugged my USB converter and plugged it back in. The windows 10 machine then automatically downloaded the drivers again and they worked.

Im thinking there must be something odd about how your computer installed the drivers and by doing the steps above it may give you a fresh start.
