EKM Dash Metering and the email option.

Post by jliakos »

Hello EKM.
Have setup the email report on the Dash software,
but when set it up to send a report every hour I get an error in the activity screen (bottom left) of
trying to read 6 months data - attempt 88 of 100 (I think it was trying for a while before I noticed).

maybe this feature is not enabled as a schedule (only as a on demand click for report) any ideas on what else I can try ?

thanks.
James.

Hello James,

This is a bug in the EKM Dash that has to do with emailing Push data. The Dash still treats the meter like a local meter (read by a USB Converter), so it is trying to read the meters internal storage. For now the "Trying to Read 6 months data" message with Push connected meters can be ignored. We will get rid of it in future releases.

Thanks for the heads up on this bug

Best regards,
Jameson

Thanks Jameson but when I have this option enabled I can't view my stats on wattvision.com.
I see this message "No data available, make sure your sensor is setup correctly".
To fix it I switch off email function and I am up again...

I have a better option for you if you would like to send data to wattvision. (it is better because you do not have to leave your computer running or the EKM Dash running for it to work.) This works with EKM Push users only.

wattvision.com now can automatically retrieve your EKM Push data directly. Sign up with wattvision and point them to your EKM Push data. They will retrieve your data for you and insert it into their system. It works really well and is easy to setup.

Here is a tutorial to connect wattvision to your EKM Push account: http://documents.ekmmetering.com/Wattvi ... torial.pdf

We have not really released this yet, so let us know if you see any issues, or tricky parts that we did not explain well in this document.

Thanks!

Hello jliakos,

I am unclear if you are saying that wattvision will not accept your 8 digit meter number when you try to sign up. Did you enter your information as is shown at the top of page 3 in this pdf? : http://documents.ekmmetering.com/Wattvi ... torial.pdf

Are you referring to the sample meter number 10068 when you say 5 digit? Your 8 digit meter number should work, please let us know if this does not work for you.

Thanks!

Hello. Just set it up... Was very simple.
Now I don't have to install software on my computer and leave it on 24/7 because the Push System takes care of communicating to wattvision my stats.

Happy customer !
