Bad Reading Data

Post by kennycaldas »

Hi,

I'm using the EKM-OmniMeter I v.3 to measure a 3-phase 3-wire system.
However, when I read the values on the display, it's showing different measures from the ones I can get with a multimeter.
I should be reading ~480V for both V1 and V3, but it's showing 353.6 for V1 and 489.9 for V3.

Why do you think I'm having this problem?

I'm attaching pictures with my connections and the values on the display

Thanks!

It sounds like you have your Omnimeter I v.3 connected to 3-phase 3-wire 480 volts. This is the one system that the Omnimeter cannot handle.

We only rate the Omnimeter I v.3 to 415 volts on a 3-phase 3-wire system.

This is from the spec sheet: "120V to 415V, 3-wire, 3-phase, 3 Lines, No Neutral"

http://documents.ekmmetering.com/OmniMe ... tering.pdf

At 480 volts 3-phase 3-wire the readings become unreliable. If you have a neutral available from the main transformer, you can run this over to your meter and convert it to a 3-phase 4-wire 480 volt system and it will work fine. Let me know if you need a hand with this.

Thanks for the photos!
