Odd data problems

Post by cliff@hawkrdg.org »

So we have been in testing phase with both v3 & v4 OmniMeters. I have been monitoring one building, comparing these to our already installed pulse counters. After some initial problems (electrician had the CT's aimed the wrong way), readings have been consistent with the old meters. HOWEVER, late last night, two meters suddenly started posting reverse Kwh. Here are sample readings:

date..........time............forward....reverse..total kwh....L1 total...L1 reverse...L2 total...L2 reverse...L3 total...L3 reverse
03/19/15....12:11:00AM.....612.9.....232.03....844.93......434.34.....122.95.......410.54....126.01.......221.22.....72.11
...............02:56:00AM.....620.76....232.03....852.79......435.03.....122.95.......412.38....126.01.......222.62.....72.11
...............07:56:00AM.....621.82....258.11....879.93......444.72.....122.95.......423.11....126.01.......228.81.....72.11

......(12:11AM - 7:56AM).....8.92.......26.08.......35..........10.38........0............12.57........0...........7.59.........0

...........................................total kwh = 35.....................................total L1+L2+L3 = 30.54

All this data comes from the EKM Dash. I have checked every reading since the inception of this anomoly, and all three lines show 'forward' for current flow. I have set the reading time from 15 min to 10 sec on the v4 (above data) to see If I can catch any transient 'reverse' current flow - so far: nada.
So I need some help here.

.....As far as we can tell, there should only be building load, nothing feeding back?
.....Why don't the individual line totals equal the total kwh?
.....Why do I not see a change in the individual line reverse kwh readings when I am seeing it in the overall reverse kwh?

I am wondering if the meter has lost it's mind or if there is some other explanation...

thanks in advance for any help

Hello Cliff,

Do you mind sending us a "Diagnostic Upload"? This is under the EKM Dash > Help Menu Item > Send Diagnostic Information.

This will send us your EKM Dash database that we can then load here to take a look at your data.

Thank you very much for your help, we will get you sorted out.

Regards,
Jameson

I sent the diagnostic, probably not too useful as the meters are reading fine and have posted NO reverse kwh for the last 3 days. I don't quite understand why the L1+L2+L3 kwh does not equal the total kwh
