CT Ratio and Meter Pulse Output

Post by ckhome »

I have a Pulse v.4 meter and the EKM brand 400 amp CT's. I did not order this as a set, i had the 400 amp CT's left over and re-used them with this meter. I'm guessing the default CT Ratio setting is for the 200 amp CT's. I'm sure the pulse output is not correct since i'm mismatched here. Please confirm and comment.

Yes, you will want to set your meter to use the 400 amp CTs. And yes our Omnimeters ship by default set to 200 amps. If we preset your Omnimeter to something other than 200 amps before we ship it out to you, we will put a sticker on the white box and on the back of the meter that says "This meter is preset to 400 amps, 600 amps, 800 amps, etc."

To change the CT ratio you will need to connect your meter to a USB or iSerial converter and use the EKM Dash to make this meter setting.

When a meter is set to 400 amps the Pulse Output will pulse 400 times per kWh.

Thanks!
