Suction side installation?

Postby akgooseman » Mon Oct 09, 2017 4:05 pm

Hi,
I'm cramped for space on the discharge side of my shallow well pump but I have lots of space between the cistern and pump. Is the meter compatible with mounting on the suction side of the pump?
Thanks,
Paul

Hello Paul,

I would not recommend installing our water meters on the suction side, they are only designed for pressure. If you were to install them on the suction side it is possible to damage the water meter, or air and contaminates could be introduced into your water.

Thanks for the quick response, Jameson. Air leaks on the suction side take all the fun out of pumping water 8-)
