EKM Metering

Hello.
I want to ask if anyone could help me ? I study for electrical engineering and i'm in last year.
I have to prepare a project for smart meters. I couldnt find informations for it ,just a general informations and a newspaper articles. Can anyone help me to give me some informations for them.
