Re: Raspberry Pi and FTDI USB (or Serial)

I would say that it is quite normal to not have 100% good data when using the 485Bees. Good communications can depend on a myriad of factors, good line of site connections, the antenna orientation, the antenna distance from the ground, other 900mHz noise in the area. If you are only getting occasion...

Re: Shorting CT outputs indefinitely

Yes, you are correct, whenever you have your CTs installed on a primary wire with a significant amount of current in the primary, it is always best to short the two secondary wires from the CT together. You can leave them shorted together indefinitely. If you do not short them together, the CT will ...

Re: Raspberry Pi and FTDI USB (or Serial)

Damn! That is so cool! Great work. Are you pushing all of your data to a remote server with your Raspberry Pi, or is some of it stored locally? Feel free to post github links if you have them.

Anyway, very cool to see!

Re: Questions for a new installation

Our Omnimeters do have biasing resistors, they do not have terminating resistors. Our communication hardware solutions (USB Converter, EKM Push, iSerial, 485Bee) are all tuned to work with our EKM Omnimeters. You should not have to use terminating, or biasing resistors with your Omnimeter installati...

Re: EKM-251DS reading low

Hello Bonete1, The OWL is an energy monitoring device. It is closer to an amp meter than an actual kWh meter (it only has CT connections). It is not very accurate, it does not measure the voltage, so it has no way to accurately calculate power factor or kWh. Here is the formula our meters use to ca...

Re: Send data without a Push

The EKM Push system only supports data from our EKM Push gateways reading EKM Omnimeters. It does not support 3rd party data uploads. You may be interested in something like this: https://io.adafruit.com/ Which from what I understand seems to let you upload your own data. I dont have direct experien...

Re: Double triggering/clocking/pulsing

Thank you for sharing your code! Have you tried looking at the pulse signal with an oscilloscope? This is a good way to see what signal you are dealing with, then the following step is how you want to correct it. If you have oscilloscope images, please post them here. From your other post, you menti...

Re: Pinout of SPWM-075-HD

Hello bandtank, and welcome to the forum! The SPWM-075-HD does contain 2 separate pulse outputs. The black wire is the common. The red wire goes to pulse output 1 and the white wire goes to pulse output 2. Im not sure what you mean by the electrical properties of each wire. There is no electricity c...

Re: Mobile Apps?

Hello Rick23, Thank you very much for considering using EKM. We do not have a native mobile app for iOS or Android at this point. But, if you are OK with using your mobile browser, you can use the EKM Widget to see your data. Here is more information about the EKM Widget: https://www.ekmmetering.com...

Hey oxymai, Thank you for sending the screenshot along with the settings you are using (though I dont understand all of your settings). From what I can tell by just looking at your screenshot, it looks like you are sending a good meter request, the meter is receiving this request, and is sending a f...
