Re: EKM Push

Wow thanks for the praise!! And thanks for following us as things progress. The next step for the EKM Dash development will be to incorporate EKM Push data into the EKM Dash. This should be a relatively easy step, the data will be incorporated, as though it were just another data source. This way yo...

Re: ekm dash read data error

Hello Vishnu, Thank you for sending us this information. The first thing to note is that this meter cannot be installed on 3-phase 3-wire (no neutral) systems over 400 volts. If your system is really 415 volts, you may be OK but this is out of acceptable range. Do you have a neutral available? Here ...

Re: Time of Use Reports

Hello Bill, The very best from our perspective will be to have everyone transition to the EKM Dash. The Dash is still a work in progress, but will certainly be better than the Reader moving forward. Here is a link to the Dash: http://www.ekmmetering.com/ekmdash If you have already paid for the full ...

Re: iSerial read data error for remote connection

Hello Vishnu, Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you are on the right track. That is good that you ca read your meters over your local network. Knowing this will take a lot of the guesswork out of what is going on. First and best would be if you could email us your dynDNS name and open port number...

Re: iSerial Read Data Error

Please quadruple-triple check your wire connections. 99% of the time when we get this far it is all due to a bad connection. Strip the RS485 data wire extra far back and make sure you have a good connection. Also try reading meter 999999999999 (this is 12 9s). This is the default meter address, this...

Re: CRC16 help

Ooooh Yeah!! :ugeek: I tip my hat to you, this is awesome. Where to begin?: RasPi, cell connection, database.... Again very cool. If you ever get a hankering to try the USB converter we will send it right over. The kWh2 data you mention is actually kWh TOU 2. The meters themselves keep track of Time...

Re: iSerial Read Data Error

It sounds like port blocking could have been the issue on the first network. Now that you have the ACT light flashing when you try to read a meter, this means that you are successfully connecting to the iSerial and now the issue is on the RS485 side. Here are some reasons the RS485 side could be not...

Re: iSerial Read Data Error

Thanks for getting back to us. Because the ACT light is not flashing, which indicates there is not serial RS485 traffic: It sounds like there are ethernet or internet side issues. This is the ethernet side of the iSerial. This could be: Wrong IP address (assuming you are using the correct IP in the ...

Re: iSerial Read Data Error

Hello Vishal, From the photos you have posted, it looks like you have the meters and the iSerial connected correctly (assuming you have good contact between the terminal blocks and the twisted-pair wire.) To make sure you have a good connection, it is best to back out the terminal block all the way,...

Re: Strange issues with RS485 Communications

I'm using an FTDI based usb->RS485 converter. It is good that you are using the FTDI chip. We have found FTDI to be far superior. We use this in our USB to RS485 converter: http://www.ekmmetering.com/ekm-metering-products/remote-meter-reading-solutions/ekm-usb-to-rs-485-converter.html Bad news is y...
