Re: Configuration for shared electricity supply

Your proposed system looks good. If you are at all considering water or gas metering in the future I would go with the Omnimeter Pulse v.4 rater than the v.3. I should be able to set all of this up in a weathertight, locking enclosure adjacent to the main utility metered supply into the house, inclu...

Re: Data Storage Capacity

Hello Jim, I think your proposal would work, but it would be rather a manual process and you would not be able to gather much data if your PC was not on the site 24/7. If it were me, I would take a look at the Push3 system instead. You could have a Push3 gateway on the site reading the Omnimeter Pul...

Re: Concurrent Data Collection Using Push3 and Dash

Hello Ezzie, It is not easy to have the EKM Push3 and the USB converter share the same RS485 bus and wireless mesh network at the same time. This is because the EKM Push3 is always trying to read the meters it is assigned to as fast as possible. So the Push3 is trying to read the meters faster than ...

Re: Pulse inputs to RS485 Push 3 protocol with Raspberry Pi

The EKM Push3 will only read data from the Omnimeters it is assigned to. So there would not be a point to spoof an Omnimeter Pulse v.4. You would have to spoof an Omnimeter Pulse v.4 number that you already own. In short, I do not know of an easy way to do this, or a reason to do it.

Re: Recommed location to install water meters

I thought of a few other recommendations for water meter installs. 1. I would put either a drop in front of the water meter (essentially a T fitting with a 4+" pipe that drops down and catches any sediment or rust particles before they enter the water meter, you can have either a cap or a valve...

Re: Problems reading meter in home automation system (Home Assistant) using ESP32 board

Hello Twyche, cool project!! (thanks for the pic!) The water meter has a tiny reed switch in it. The reed switch closes once per revolution of the magnetic dial on the water meter. This is very similar to just touching 2 wires together. What result do you get on your ESP32 if you replace the water m...

Re: Recommed location to install water meters

Can the meters be buried below ground with cement walls and iron cover? Yes, I would say so, unless you think there would ever be a lot of standing water in the underground vault. I would not recommend the water meter gets submerged in water, as this could mess up the pulse output module over time....

Re: How to Use the v.4 Omnimeter's Controllable Outputs

It sounds like you are using a USB converter and the EKM Dash to read your Omnimeter, is that correct? Also, it sounds like you want to monitor the data on one Omnimeter and trigger a relay on a different Omnimeter. Is this also correct? I am not aware of a way to do what you are wanting to do with ...

Re: Getting things started

It sounds like there must be some confusion somewhere. The MAC address that you posted in this thread earlier (4016FA0000A6) is for an old Push2 Pro. If you look on the front of the Push3 you have there, what is the MAC address that is on the sticker below the ethernet port? If you are unsure, you c...

Re: Getting things started

When I look at your Push2 Pro in the cloud, I can see that it has not been connected to the internet. (heads up you do not have a Push3 gateway) Do you have your Push2 Pro connected by an ethernet cable directly to your internet router? Or are you using a wifi bridge? In an earlier post it sounded l...
