Yes, this is correct.

Only our v.4 Omnimeter models report direction of current in real-time (Net Watts)

All of our Omnimeters calculate Forward and Reverse kWh (Net kWh), but this is not helpful in the real-time sense that you are talking about.

A quick update to this... it looks like PVOutput has created an uploader for the v4 meter. I have my meter on solar generation and am not sure the consumption by the inverter at night will be enough to register in the reverse direction, but I'll watch for that.

With regard to data from reading the meter directly (http://io.ekmpush.com), is the precision of the data adjustable? A third significant figure on the kWh total would help improve the precision of the power calculated from one interval to the next (although I realize it may be false precision).

The best resolution that the v.4 meter can provide is hundredths (0.01) of a kWh. Does this answer your question?

One more question... although the API call supports filters by date, it appears only the most recent 1024 data points are available. With 1 min sampling, that is about 17 hours. If data older than that is necessary, it looks like it must be saved at that time or it is lost.

Also, when I'm reading the push data right now, I get double entries, both of which count against the 1000 read limit, effectively reducing the readable data to just the past 8.5 hours.

I think your right in your assumption that its only the last 1000 entries at 1 minute sampling that is available (unless you have organised a different sample rate with EKM)

I don't know if this could be of help to you: http://documents.ekmmetering.com/Import ... _Excel.pdf

You can also refer to this post regarding the "cloud storage" : http://forum.ekmmetering.com/viewtopic. ... 5693#p5693

Thanks... I had seen that excel document, and may use that as a data retention method, but I think it needs to be updated. The address it lists for the query isn't quite right. When I use the xml output address built from the EKM API builder, the data connection screen in Excel shows the right information. However, for some reason, the actual fields that get imported into excel when I refresh the connection don't match the xml report and instead of seeing amps and RMS power, I see unpopulated fields. I just started looking at it last night, and haven't troubleshot it yet... just, weirdness.

Edit... thanks for the cloud storage link. I don't disagree with EKM's decision on this, just want to make sure I plan my system to be compatible. I'll need to figure out the double posting (maybe reboot the system tonight)... that causes other headaches.

I played around with this "excel" solution a while back with a V3 meter and it worked, so I think you will find that it was originally developed for the V3 meter but never updated for the V4 which is why you will most likely be getting the unpopulated fields, etc........ The V4 has more fields than the V3.

Rebooting the Push (or the meter) resolved the double posts. I'll post on this topic again if it happens in the future.

Edit... regarding the Excel data connection, I rebuilt the query specifically filtering for my fields of interest, and they populated correctly. Good enough for me.

Hey, I have been away from the country for about a week now and have VERY spotty access to VERY spotty internet. So apologies for being slow to get back to you.

It looks like you guys have things pretty well sorted, so thanks for helping each other out!

Yes the url API format that is shown in the "EKM Push API to Excel" document is outdated. You should be able to use the new API format listed here: http://www.ekmmetering.com/developer-portal/

Let me know if you need a hand formatting your own URL. Now you can either request .csv data (I imagine this will work better for you) or .xml data and import this directly into Excel.

I have not seen the doubling of reads issue for quite some time. I have forwarded what you posted here the the team at EKM.

Thanks again for working on this together!
