Push system GSM connect ability

Hi

Can I connect the EKM push via a 3G router to send pakage from different sites to one central point at HQ?

Can the push system be connected directly to a 3g modem without a router?

What type of speed can I expect up loading? Does this depend on the service provider?

The Push system is the only way to fly if you are considering sending meter data over cellular. This is for a number of reasons.

There is no network to maintain, the EKM Push automatically connects, and starts sending reads to the central database.
You can use a very slow internet connection
The EKM Push communicates with the database over UDP, which is much more efficient than TCP at transmitting data (saves you from paying for too much data in cellular company fees)
Some cellular networks will not allow our old iSerial method to work (they do not allow incoming traffic). So the Push the only "pushes" data to the central database is perfect.

We have had a lot of customers use cellular modems to send data using the EKM Push. I would recommend this in any case where you do not have access to DSL or cable internet (only because cellular will end up being more costly than a traditional internet connection). The customers we have that use cellular are either monitoring remote wind farms or car charging systems, etc where getting a normal internet connection may be out of the question.

Each meter read is about 0.2 kB for the meter data (once a minute by default but this can be slowed) and 0.3 kB per minute for the Push gateway to database communications. This is really a pittance in terms of modern data transfer rates, so I would not be concerned with transfer speeds.

As far as we have heard, this works great! Just plug in the EKM Push to your cellular modem and it starts working and sending meter reads.
