Hello Jameson,
Thanks for your information. Another question: If I order a "three-phase four-wire" complete metering packages, is it possible for me to implement "3-phase 3-wire" with these packages as well?
Thanks,
Kane
EKM Metering load side question
Re: EKM Metering load side question
Yes, you can use the same Omnimeter and CTs for a 3-phase 4-wire system or a 3-phase 3-wire system without having to change anything about the meter itself. You just wire it according to either of the diagrams and it will work (it can also be used on single phase 2-wire or single phase 3-wire -- any system in the world.) This is one of the major advantages of the Omnimeter line-up. You only have to carry one meter model that can work with any of our CTs. It can be installed on very small electrical systems all the way to 5000 amp systems.

Re: EKM Metering load side question
Is the meter designed only for the EKM Push? Can I use other communication gateway to communicate with the meter via RS485?
Re: EKM Metering load side question
Our meters can be read by any RS485 device that supports their protocol. If you are not a programmer that is familiar with serial communications, I would suggest you NOT go this route. As long as you send the meter the correct "Request String" using the correct serial settings, the meter will respond with all of its data. The best is to use the EKM Dash Hex Inspector to learn how we send requests and parse the meter data that is returned. You can use this to write your own software, which many of our customers have done.
More information about our meter protocol can be found in the EKM forums or at the bottom of this page: http://www.ekmmetering.com/developer-portal
