meter reading when 2 CT's are connected

Post by coolcatiger »

Hi

I have EKM meter installed with two CT's to measure solar production from 2 inverters. My data shows

P = 2582
L1_P = 18
L2_P = 2562
L3_P = 0 (makes sense because nothing is connected here)

L1_V = 0
L2_V = 123
L3_V = 0

L1_P only shows 18 , L1 is connected to inverter with the same number of panels as L2 which shows 2582.
Do you think L1_P is not reading correctly.

When I connected another measuring device (currentcost) to same lines I see reading from both lines.

Please advice how EKM is supposed to read two CT's

Hello coolcatiger,

It looks like your meter is not properly sensing voltage on Line 1. Please check your Line 1 voltage reference wire and it's connection to port 7 of your Omnimeter. If it looks good, use a ammeter to measure the AC voltage from port 7 to port 10. Insert your ammeter probes into the head of the phillips screws in the terminal blocks.

L1_P is for watts on Line 1.
L1_V is for volts on Line 1.

Watts = volts x amps x power factor.

If you do not have volts registering correctly on line 1, the meter will not be able to calculate watts or kilowatt hours correctly.

Thanks,
Jameson
