I'm changing computers and would like to load the Dash software on to the new PC.
The dash software has been running 24/7 for a few months now.
Will all the past historical readings be transferred via the Omnimeter? or maybe theres a file I can move from the old PC to the new PC?
Or do I lose everything?
Thanks

Re: Loading Dash on new computer
Hello,
You can find the EKM Dash Database on your computer. You can make a copy of the database and transfer it to your new computer. This is probably the preferred method.
Here is where the database is commonly located for various operating systems:
Windows 7 and Vista: C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\EKM Dash
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\EKM Dash
Mac OS X: User/Library/Application Support/EKM Dash/EKM Metering Database.db
In Mac OS X if you cannot find it this way just hold down the Option key when you click to open the Dash and you will see where these files are.

Here is an easy way to create a backup of your database and then restore from this backup on your new computer:
On the original computer, hold the "Shift" Key as you are opening the EKM Dash. You will see this window:
Select "Reset Database"
Click OK
You will see this window:
Transfer the Backup file to your new computer.
On the new computer, hold the "Shift" Key as you are opening the EKM Dash.
Select "Restore from Backup"
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks

Re: Loading Dash on new computer
Thank you Jameson. I finally got around to loading and transferring the data to the new computer. There is an issue I am having. I'm not sure if it is a bug or error on my part.
After following your directions and finally clicking "Restore from back up" Dash starts with the database as expected. But If I shut down and close the Dash software and then restart it, the database is not loaded into Dash.
I have to go through the "Restore from Back up" process again.
This poses the problem where if Dash is running for any length of time and I need to shutdown the dash software, should I first forget to "reset database" and create a back-up then I lose all the data.
Dash typically runs 24 hrs/day on a Vista machine and its the most current version of Dash.
Thanks
