New EKM Dash installed 2 days, fatal error

Post by CubeX »

Hi EKM and forum members. I have just installed my new EMK Pulse V4, everything wag going well for about a day, end then a fatal application error . I am using a the trial software, however I've only had it on my machine for 2 days.

Has anyone had a similar problem, and know how to fix it?

Here is the error:
An unhandled NilObjectException has occurred.

BDictionary.Convert
BPrefs.InitPrefs
BPrefs.HasKey
Registration.IsRegistrationValid
Registration.CurrentVersion
App.Event_Open
Application._CallFunctionWithExceptionHandling
REALbasic._RunFrameworkInitialization

My machine: Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
EKM: EKM Dash V.1.2

Thanks everyone!

It sounds like your prefs file may be corrupted (this is something we have fixed int he latest dev issue, we have not released this yet though). You will have to remove your prefs file, the next time you start your EKM Dash it will generate a new one.

To remove the prefs file:

Go to:

Windows 8, 7 and Vista: C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\EKM Dash
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\EKM Dash
Mac OS X: User/Library/Application Support/EKM Dash

In Mac OS X if you cannot find it this way just hold down the Option key when you click to open the Dash and you will see where these files are.

Let us know if you need a hand.

Thanks,
Jameson

Wow, I am impressed with the level of support. Thank you for the fast reply Jameson.

I can confirm that it is working again. I hope this helps other users if they have a similar problem. Literally a 2 min fix. I've actually written a small script to monitor the program, delete the perf file, and restart the program. If anyone is interested I am happy to share.

Looking forward to the new version of EMK Dash!

Have a good day.
