Dash on a Raspberry Pi

Post by John »

First I should explain my limited technical knowhow, my system is just three meters on a single house and I have been using Push & Dash on my PC and now want to change that to a Raspberry Pi computer with the Raspbian OS. I have Push working OK but am unable to get Dash to open, it has downloaded OK and is showing in File Manager as Dash but from there it will not open. I have noted that some customers have been using Raspberry Pi and hope one will be kind enough to explain how I can get Dash to open. Regards John

Re: Dash on a Raspberry Pi

Hello John,

Thank you for joining the forum!

Unfortunately the RaspberryPi uses an ARM based chip, and the EKM Dash is built using xojo which needs to use an Intel based chip. Im not sure why this matters, but for some reason it does. :?

You may find that using something like wattvision or pvoutput.org will be useful on the RaspberryPi. Here are some of the options for utilizing your EKM Push data: http://www.ekmmetering.com/solutions/push-apps.html

Yes there are some others on this forum that have developed their own software solutions (here is a link: http://forum.ekmmetering.com/viewtopic. ... erry#p3429 ) by connecting their Raspberry Pi to their meter over RS485, but I am not aware of anyone using the Push data with a Raspberry Pi.

Sorry I cannot be of more help with this, we do wish we could run the Dash on our RaspberryPi too!!

Regards,
Jameson
