New water meter install with EKM Push

Post by ngant17 »

I know these questions have likely been addressed by other posters, but I need to have these interesting products and services by EKM reinforced in my mind. So bear with me if these are a little redundant!

To start, once the EKM Push Gateway is wired to the pulse output of the water meter, and then the EKM Push is connected to my router in my home, where does my pulse data show up next? Do I have to use EKM Dash software? Is it automatically send to your cloud servers?

Also do I have to have an Omnimeter connected to the EKM Push or is that a separate device used for other purposes?

I'm thinking it would be useful to just have the raw data available on a cloud server, and manipulate the data into some specific user-generated graph for water-use analysis.

Can I do this with the hardware, EKM Push gateway only, without needing to hook up your Omnimeter?

The EKM Push is only able to read EKM Omnimeters. It can read up to 50 separate Omnimeters. It cannot connect directly to Water Meters, gas meters, or basic electric meters.

In order to connect your water meter to our EKM Push system, you will need to connect your water meter to and Omnimeter Pulse v.4, and then connect the Omnimeter Pulse v.4 to your EKM Push. Each Omnimeter Pulse v.4 can count the pulses from up to 3 water or gas meters.

Yes, when you connect your EKM Push to the internet and it is reading your Omnimeter Pulse v.4, the data will automatically show up in your cloud account. If you want to retrieve your data from the EKM Push API in .csv format (best for spreadsheets) you can do that using your EKM Push key. Please see more information about how to best do this here: http://www.ekmmetering.com/developer-portal/

Or even better for our water meter users is what we call "Summary Data", this is how we gather the data we need for historical charts in the EKM Widget, Dash, and http://www.encompass.io. Please see this thread: http://forum.ekmmetering.com/viewtopic. ... =api#p6235
