Reset data on Omnimeter I V.3 and Push network? (moving system to another box)

It's been a while since I messed with figuring out how the meters and push devices work together, but if I recall correctly, the meter keeps track of it's own history that can be accessed directly via the software and EKM Blink, and the Push device only takes what it reads in real time (every minute by default) and pushes that information to the Push system/network online where the data remains...indefinitely, I believe. If I'm understanding this correctly, then it means that if the Push service is offline, then the data that it missed will NOT be uploaded?...that actually brings up another question for another post, but I digress, it should also mean that I don't actually need to worry about resetting the data on the meter, if this isn't possible (and I've heard it isn't).

Simple version (I talk/think too much). I have moved my Omnimeter I V.3 and EKM Push to a subpanel, and would like to either reset all data, OR delete the last month of data (up to the end of our billing cycle). Is this possible at all?

Thanks!

It is not possible to reset the Total kWh readings on the Omnimeter I v.3. This is to prevent tampering and is one of the features that makes our Omnimeters revenue grade. The Omnimeter Pulse v.4s on the other hand do have a separate register that is for this called the Resettable kWh (they also have a non-resettable Total kWh), you can reset the Resettable kWh: https://help.ekmmetering.com/support/so ... omnimeters

For your Omnimeter I v.3, the only way to "reset" the kwh is to keep track of the kWh at the beginning of the time period, you will then subtract this number from the kWh at the end of the time period. For example if you have 1000 kWh at the beginning of the time period, and 2500 kWh at the end of the time period, you would have measured 1500 kWh during the time period.

This is also easy to do if you have your meter connected to the EKM Push system. You can use the Summary API, to tell you exactly how many kWh were measured in a given period of time.

If you want an easier interface to tell you the same thing, you can also use encompass.io to tell you the kilowatt hours measured for any custom period of time: https://help.ekmmetering.com/support/so ... -encompass

Hope this helps, please let me know if you have any questions.

Are you referring strictly to the data that the Omnimeter keeps stored though? You mentioned the Push system, but is there no way to delete data in the Push system selectively, or at all?

It's not a big deal since I can generate a report for a specific time period, and especially since the meter was offline for a couple of days (this makes the gap obvious). But it would be a bit cleaner if I could delete data on the push system only, back to the previous billing date.

Thanks!

There is no way to go in and modify the past data in the EKM Push system.

Thanks for the clarification. I'll just make use of the reporting feature!
