EKM Reader software for linux

Post by mty2000 »

Hi,

Where can I get the EKM Reader software for linux. I need source files to compile for my embedded Cavium Networks CNS3000 processor.

I am using OpenWRT with Linux version 2.6.39.2 and I am using EKM-OmniMeter I v.3

Thanks for your support

Wow cool!! Are you trying to read meters with a hacked Wifi router? Or are OpenWRT and DD-WRT two completely different things?

I cant find much in the way of information with a google of "Cavium Networks CNS3000 processor", but it looks like this thing has an ARM processor. Unfortunately neither our EKM Dash software (or the old EKM Reader software) will work on ARM based processors. This is a limitation of xojo (what we use the write the EKM Dash)

But I would think you would be miles ahead to just try and read the Omnimeter v.3 directly with your own software. There are some examples here on this forum, and we provide the tools and resources to you to be able to figure out our RS485 communications protocol and string parsing.

The best place to start is at the bottom of this page here: http://www.ekmmetering.com/developer-portal

Sounds like a cool project, so keep us posted!
