Hi, I have 8 ekm 3 meters, on some I get only one kwh reading on others I get two.
Is there a problem with the CT wiring, how do i get the actual real kwh consumption.
Which numbers are correct, do I add both numbers for billing purposes????. Very bad documentation, where do I find what all the registers mean, some are self explanatory but others????.
Thanks
Peter

Hello Peter,
Welcome to the forum.
Here is a page that explains each of the values you see on the LCD screen: http://documents.ekmmetering.com/EKM_Me ... eading.pdf
Register 1 is Total kWh: This is Forward kWh + Reverse kWh
Register 2 is Reverse kWh: This is important if you are metering a grid-tied solar system (sending energy back to the grid). If you are not sending energy back to the grid and this register is still incrementing, this is a good indication that you have something hooked up backwards.
====
If register 2 is incrementing when it should not be, there are a few things to check. This assumes a 120/240 volt system:
1. Make sure the arrows on the CTs are facing towards the load.
2. Make sure you have CT1 on line1 and CT2 on line2
3. Make sure the voltage reference from Line 1 goes to Line1 power on the meter, make sure the voltage reference from Line 2 goes to Line2 power on the meter. Connect your neutral to the meter.
4. Make sure your CT wires are connecting into the meter in the right order: For OmniMeters it should be black-white, black-white-etc. from left to right, going into the meter itself.
5. Make sure that the CT on hot line 1 is connecting in to ports 1 and 2 on the meter, and not 3 and 4 , etc.
Here is a video showing proper wiring of a 120/240 volt 3-wire system (this is a video representation of the wiring diagram that is laser etched on the side of the meter):
