help to detrmine the calculate power with formula

Post by marcomartinez816 »

Thanks by your support but I’d like know how can I calculate using formula in order to obtain the same result that the displayed by omnimeter . p.e
the measure displayed is:

Step 3 Voltage line 1=259
Step 4 voltage line 2=257
Step 5 Voltage line 3=262
step 6 A1=29
step 7 A2=22
Step 8 A3=30
Step 9 power line 1 =5424
Step 10 power line 2 =3016
Step 11 power line 3=4244

But if I want to calculate with formula I cannot get the result of the meter.
W=A*V
W=A1 step 6 (29)*(259) step 3 voltage line 1 =29*259=7511 watts . This is the result using formula

But the measure reading is in step 9 power line 1=5424 watts

Notice: my ac is 460 3phase

I’d appreciate your assistance.

Hello Marco,

The formula for kWh is actually volts x amps x power factor = kilowatt hours

You would calculate this for each line.

Will you tell us your power factor?

Just so you are aware, this equation often does not come out exactly correct on the face of the meter. The kWh will always be within 0.5% (this is the value that we will certify to be accurate always). This is because the metering chip calculates these values 25,000 times per second and then displays the values as they come up on the LCD screen.

Thanks,
Jameson
