Connecting to 3/4" copper

Post by cviscount »

Good Day
I'm curious as to how the water meter connects to the my 3/4" copper line? I see there are bolts on each end, does that mean that it uses a compression method of connecting? There is no mention of how that works. Would this work with PEX as well?
Thanks, CV

Our water meters have NPT (National Pipe Thread) connections. You can connect stainless steel directly to your 3/4" Copper line. If you are using sweat fittings you will need a copper 3/4" NPT female to 3/4 sweat fitting. These are available at any hardware store.

Yes, you can also connect to PEX provided you have a PEX to 3/4" NPT female (also available at any store that carries PEX)

Be sure to mount your water meter so that the dial is flat (horizontal) and facing up.
