Have 2 SPWM 075's installed for last 2 weeks; one is "master" and one is used as 'deduct". One that is used as master is not moving while other is turning fine. Both should be recording same amount when only deduct meter is used. I tapped the master meter slightly and got it to very slowly rotate, but not as it should. Could meter movement be faulty?

Hello Garry,

First thing I would want to check would be:

Is the water meter installed in a horizontal orientation with the dial facing up? Like in Figure 2 of this spec sheet: http://documents.ekmmetering.com/EKM-SP ... -sheet.pdf

Thanks,

Yes. It has been working properly since it was installed on Mar 29; it stopped recording on April 18. I took the meter out of the line and looked in the inlet and outlet to see if any blockage, but could not see any. It was installed in the horizontal position originally and has never been changed.

Ok, thanks. Just also confirm that the dial is facing up (towards the sky)

If so sounds like something is certainly very wrong. If it looks clean inside, is installed properly, etc. then I have to assume it has a defect in which case we would be more than happy to replace it.

Also, please let me know if the water is flowing through the meter in the direction of the arrow stamped into the side of the meter.

Thanks for your help.

Yes it is flowing in direction of arrow; it was installed that way originally and worked for about 3 weeks. I really need to get this fixed as we opened today and the water meter reading are crucial to all our state EPA reports on water usage and cal calculation of wastewater flows. Can you send me a new one and then I can return this one when I put the new one in?

Best would be (if you are convinced there is a fatal flaw in the water meter you have), would be to order another water meter and then return the water meter you have when the replacement arrives, this way you can just swap it in.

When the faulty meter arrives, we will check it out and send you a refund (including your shipping) if it is indeed faulty. This is the best and quickest way to get you going.

Please print out this .pdf form, fill it out, and include it with your product return: http://documents.ekmmetering.com/Returns-Form-RMA.pdf

Please ship to:

EKM Metering Inc.

Thanks for your help.
