I updated the wrong list. I reset my Century Link router and now it appears to be updating through the push device.

Hello 2ndsteel, welcome to the forum!
Good to hear you fixed whatever was going on. I have not heard of an issue with a Century Link Router, but would be interested in knowing more if you see this again. We still have not been able to corner the issue with the Apple router, so any information is helpful in how to re-create. Please do keep us posted if you see any more hiccups.
Thanks for your help.

I am logging a similar issue, using a NetGear WN2500RP router/access point (set up as access point, the router is an Orange Livebox). In 2 weeks communication from the Push to the internet was interrupted on 2 occasions, and power cycling the WN2500RP was needed solved the issue. Other devices were connected wireless and wired and functioning normally. I'll try to find out more if I can and report back.

Hi,

Further to above: I have no idea how, but the problem appears to have solved itself. After 2x quit updating shortly after installation, the problem has not re-emerged and the Push system seems to be happily updating with very good reliability.

With thanks for the discussions

OK I have spoken too early - regrettably my Push system has been dropping out. I am not on site so difficult to reset. After a power trip the system came back, but only lasted for a few days. I'll be switching back to iSerial - this has worked for years without any real problems.

Sorry to put this without any real cause or possibility to investigate at present.

With regards

Today Monday 4 September 2017:

My EKM Push system has not come back on-line since 16 August. (I tried to remote restart the internet to no avail (got a new IP only, but EKM Push remained unavailable). I want to like the Push system, but cannot without any remote reset option, and all my metering is impaired. As said before I will go back to the iSerial. Waiting for someone to help at location...

Details of my setup:

Livebox (main router) <--> Netgear WN2500RP (wireless range extender) <--> ethernet cable to EKM Push. (powered up) & other ethernet cable to iSerial (powered down)

So the remote restart is only affecting the Livebox (which does not solve the problem)
Remote access to the Netgear extender: I did not manage that, but checked the user manual and it has no remote restart option so may not help anyway.

I am confident that power cycling the Netgear extender will solve the problem every time it occurs, however, no body on site to do just that...

I hope this is of any use when deciding to switch to a Push system: !>>check first if you can remote restart the internet access device you are connecting the EKMpush to<<!.
This may well help you keep the system going if you can't be on site every now and then. Alternatively: the iSerial drops out sometimes but can be fixed remotely.
