Re: Monitoring during power failure

Thanks for the advice. I just checked and the neutral on the output of my inverter IS connected to the building neutral. If the neutrals weren't connected, I suppose I could also use an isolation transformer to prevent any kind of neutral loop problem. It would be easy to wire up a tiny relay to app...

Monitoring during power failure

I'm using an Omnimeter pulse V.4 to monitor the mains coming into my shop, and yesterday I had a power failure. I the way the power failed was terrible, I think someone crashed into a power pole or something, because it was rapidly off then back on, then low voltage.. etc.. I RAN to kill my main bre...

Re: Questions for a new installation

I agree the database needs to be in a know location... but users should be able to specify what that location actually is... and.. having the database where it currently is, is not really the best place for it... because it's tied to the logged in User... so If I'm logged in I see tons of logged dat...

Re: Questions for a new installation

Is there a way to configure where the dash meter read database is stored? I'm trying to run dash on a windows 10 tablet.. storage is extremely limited, so I don't want the database on the tablet, I want in a specific directory on my NAS box. I can't find an option for the location of the database.

Re: encompass.io – First Impressions?

I thought I would give some feedback on your encompass.io system. First of all, I do like the over all design, I especially like having real time gauge, however I have one suggestion about this: I particularly like seperate Amp guages for L1 and L2 (single phase 3 wire system) however my loading is ...

Re: Questions for a new installation

Great, thanks for this information. It will be helpful when planning exactly where to physically place meters and which circuits will be monitored

Re: Questions for a new installation

You will not have an accurate Total kWh if you do this. If you use the Omnimeter Pulse v.4, you will get accurate kWh on Each Line. With this you can have kWh and watts for each of the three 2 wire systems. So with Omnimeter pluse V.4, everything would be accurate except the total KWh? I would be l...

Re: Questions for a new installation

I have a few more questions about your omnimeters, I'm basically just wondering about the capabilities so I can make a total system plan. First, is it possible to use two current transformers on a single input of an omnimeter to read the total of the two lines? I realize both CTs would have to be on...

Re: Questions for a new installation

Thanks for taking the time to answer all my questions, I realize the answers are probably already in various places if I took the time to look for them, but it's so much better in my opinion to have a dialog going and to be able to just ask what I am wondering about instead of digging around to find...

Re: Accessing EKM Meter with PLC using Modbus on RS485?

It takes 3/4 to 1 second to request meter data from a meter and to have it respond over RS485. So the fastest rate you will be able to read a meter with your own device is once per 3/4 to 1 second. This also assumes a 1 meter to 1 device connection. I've been looking over the document at http://doc...
