Sohali,
Thank you for using our meters.
Meter Issue:
For a 3-phase 4-wire system you will need to leave the neutral wire connected to the meter. Here is a video showing proper wiring of a 3-phase 4-wire system:

There is more information and wiring diagrams for a 3-phase 4-wire system towards the end of this spec sheet here:

Are you thinking that the meter has something to do with tripping your breaker? We have never heard of this and would be interested to hear if you determine this to be the case.

iSerial Issue:
Have you been able to log into your iSerial over your LAN network? The meter comes preconfigured with the IP address 192.168.1.125
Are you running the EKM Reader software?
Let first get you started with running our new software architecture. We are calling this our EKM Dash and it will be easier to setup and run than the the EKM Reader. Here is a link to access the software download:
http://www.ekmmetering.com/ekmdash
I will paste in some instructions to get it going below.
In order to read your meters over the internet using the iSerial and the EKM Dash software, you will need to have a computer running to do this. It sounds like you will be interested in our new EKM Push system, with this there are none of the configuration issues you are having and you will not need to always run a computer to have your meters be read and the data being logged. This will also be a better solution for you if you are considering having more than a few dozen meters to keep track of. Here is more information about the EKM Push:

Set up Local or Remote
Setting up Local or Remote
If you are reading your meters Locally (i.e. with a USB converter or and RS-232 converter) follow the instructions for Local below.
If you are reading your meters Remotely (i.e. with an iSerial using you LAN network or over the internet) follow the instructions for Remote below.
Local
If you have a PC with a RS-232 DB9 serial port:
Connect your meters (up to 256) to your RS-232 to RS-485 converter, connect the converter to the DB9 serial port on your computer.
In the Local tab of the EKM Dash software select Com Port: COM Port 1
If you have a computer with USB ports and on of our USB converters (do not use other USB converters as they are often times problematic):
Connect your meters (up to 256) to your USB to RS-485 converter, plug the USB converter into the USB port of your computer.
If your computer does not automatically download the USB drivers, download the USB drivers from FTDI found here:
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
In the Local tab of the EKM Dash software select your USB Com Port. This can be any number from COM 8 to COM 24 or some reference to USB Port
Click "OK"

Click "Update"
Set the iSerial IP address and Port. This is best explained here:
http://documents.ekmmetering.com/EKM-iS ... -Sheet.pdf
If you are reading your meters over the internet:
You will have to open a port in the firewall of your router.
You will have to get assigned a static IP or use a service like dynDNS to acquire a static name. Instructions for doing this are best found here:
