OmniMeter II UL with 480V

Hello,

Here's some questions regarding voltage and UL listing:

1. I understand the OmniMeter II is UL approved for 120/240V, but will it work with 480 if necessary? (I understand the UL listing would not be valid under these conditions).

2. Do you have plans for a UL listed model for 480?

3. Are the CTs part of the UL listed status? How does that work?

Thanks,
Luke

Hello Luke,

The Omnimeter II v.3 UL will work with 480/277 3-phase 4-wire (3 hots and a neutral). This is 480 volts from Hot to Hot and 277 volts from Hot to Neutral. But like the Omnimeter I v.3 it will not work with 480 3-phase 3-wire (480 volt hot to hot only). Yes, a 480/277 install will no longer be UL Listed, but it will not hurt the meter.

We do not have plans in the near term for a UL Listed 480 volt. One possible way around this could be to use a UL Listed Potential Transformer that would reduce your voltage from 480 volts to a voltage we can deal with with the UL Omnimeter.

Our CTs that are up to 400 amps are UL approved for use with our UL listed meters to be a complete UL listed install.

Thanks,
