NSF/ANSI lead certification

Post by solarguy »

I'd like to use the pulse water meter for domestic hot water in a multi-occupant building. Are the meters certified or comply with the requirements of NSF 61 or NSF/ANSI 372 regarding lead content?

Hello solarguy,

Our water meters are made of stainless steel, and therefore are inherently lead free. We chose to use stainless over lead free brass for the very reason that we could avoid any issues with lead content.

However our water meters are not NSF 61 certified. We simply have not been able to justify the cost of annually certifying each of our water meter models which has proved to be prohibitive.

If you do decide to go with a water meter from a different supplier, be sure to choose one with a pulse output. If you have a water meter with a pulse output it should be compatible with our Omnimeter Pulse v.4/ EKM Push system.

We wanted to let you know that we now offer five new NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 certified water meter models:

3/4" Horizontal (SPWM-075-HD-NSF): https://www.ekmmetering.com/collections ... -water-nsf
3/4" Vertical (VSPWM-075-HD-NSF): https://www.ekmmetering.com/collections ... -water-nsf
1.0" Horizontal (SPWM-100-NSF): https://www.ekmmetering.com/collections ... -water-nsf
1.5" Horizontal (SPWM-100-NSF): https://www.ekmmetering.com/collections ... -water-nsf
2.0" Horizontal (SPWM-100-NSF): https://www.ekmmetering.com/collections ... -water-nsf

These meters are available to order now and can be found in our online store using the links above.

All of these meters are made of stainless steel and have pulse outputs, so they can be used with our remote metering system and can be connected to the Omnimeter Pulse v.4 and the EKM Push system.
